The South Dakota State Softball team takes great pride in representing the university, the community of Brookings and the state of South Dakota. It is such an honor to wear the blue and yellow because we know that being a Jackrabbit is special. We are so thankful for the wonderful alumni who have paved the way of success on the field and in the classroom.
Academics are a top priority for our program. South Dakota State University gives us a great opportunity to receive a top notch education. We are committed to doing great work, not only on the field but in the classroom as well. We continue to earn a team grade point average over 3.0 each semester. This has led to several individual academic honors from the Summit League.
We understand it is a privilege to play the game that we love at this level. It has allowed us to meet great people in the community and serve as role models for kids. Participating in various community service events throughout the year is something we look forward to. It's an opportunity to say "Thank You" and show our gratitude. Some of our favorite community service events include helping at the Children's Museum in Brookings, volunteering at the Special Olympics State Softball tournament, and delivering cookies on September 11 to the first responders in Brookings.
The South Dakota State Softball program believes in a “team first” mentality. We are more than just players and coaches. And we are more than just our performance on the field. We look out for one another and are genuinely invested in each other. We are the Jackrabbit Softball family.
